Gabe
Klinger (USA)
Gabe
Klinger, a Chicago-based writer, programmer and teacher was
born in São Paulo, Brazil. A critic and journalist,
he has written for over twenty journals including De Filmkrant
in Holland, Ekran in Slovenia, indieWIRE, Letras de cine in
Spain, and
Undercurrent. He currently serves as an adjunct professor
in the Film and Video Department at Columbia College where
he teaches courses on Brazilian Cinema and will be teaching
a course on New Chinese Cinema in Fall 2007. He has lectured
on film at the Alliance Francaise in Chicago, Harvard University,
the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Northwestern University,
and the University of Chicago.
Ray
Pride (USA)
Ray
Pride has been in the dark for over 20 years, writing about
movies for, among others, Chicago's Newcity and Reader, as
well as stints as a columnist at indieWIRE and Nerve. A contributing
editor of Filmmaker and Cinema Scope, he has also written
for Salon, the BBC, Time Out New York, and written reviews,
interviews and festival reports for indieWIRE. He was a guest
critic on Siskel & Ebert in 1999. He edits the daily Movie
City Indie column (moviecityindie.com) and contributes to
Movie City News (moviecitynews.com). His photography, which
has been exhibited in numerous Chicago galleries, is linked,
along with other projects (including several documentary shorts),
at raypride.com as well as at Chicago art site Sharkforum,
(Sharkforum.org). There’s always a deadline.
Hank Sartin (USA)
Hank
Sartin is the Film Editor of Time Out Chicago. He has been
a film critic for fourteen years, publishing in the Chicago
Reader, the Chicago Free Press, the Windy City Times, and
other publications. He also holds a PhD in Film Studies from
the University of Chicago ( a dissertation on Warner Brothers’
cartoons). He has taught journalism and cinema studies at
the University of Chicago, the University of Notre Dame, and
Columbia College. A regular contributor to WGN AM 720, where
he discusses film on a monthly basis.
