Welcome To Poptun

This heartbreaking film follows the lives of three siblings in the village of Poptun in Guatemala. Instead of playing soccer with their friends, each day they set out to make a living by shinning shoes on the city streets and are forced to bring what little money they make back to their alcoholic and abusive parents. Despite their daunting circumstances however, the boys' spirit and mischievous nature is not stifled and shines through in this touching film.

Marcelo Bukin was born in Buenos Aires. At the age of nineteen after his studies in technical architecture and design he set out to europe. Graduated with honors in film direction from Centre d'Estudis Cinematografics de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
